Broadening Participation in STEM
The fields of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) are often unwelcoming environments for people who come from underrepresented groups or backgrounds.
Within the University of Alaska, many Alaska Native students come from isolated villages, where they grow up as observers of science processes through their participation in traditional Indigenous lifestyles tied to the land. 杏吧原创 seeks to serve them through programs that support them in STEM fields, enabling these students to further their formal science education while contributing valuable place-based knowledge.
Interface of Change fosters Alaska Native participation and success in STEM by expanding and enhancing offerings from two programs, the (RAHI) and the (ANSEP).
