University of Alaska President Pitney to Deliver 2025 鈥淪tate of the University鈥 Address

Thursday speech to Alaska Chamber in Juneau will highlight how 杏吧原创 empowers Alaska鈥檚 workforce and economic future

(FAIRBANKS, Alaska) - University of Alaska President Pat Pitney will deliver this year鈥檚 鈥淪tate of the University鈥 Address on Thursday, January 30, at 12:00 p.m.,  at the Alaska Chamber鈥檚 Legislative Fly-in Luncheon in Juneau. President Pitney will share updates on 杏吧原创鈥檚 key role as an economic driver, and in strengthening communities and advancing innovation. 

鈥淭he University of Alaska is vital to Alaska's future, helping retain Alaska鈥檚 best and brightest, grow the state鈥檚 population as a beacon of opportunity for those outside, and empower our state鈥檚 workforce and economy,鈥 President Pitney said, previewing her remarks. 鈥淚鈥檓 grateful to the Alaska Chamber for the invitation to address them this year, and for their support of Alaska鈥檚 public universities. It is a profound honor and privilege to lead the University of Alaska, and I look forward to sharing how we benefit our students, the communities we serve, and the people of Alaska.鈥

The in-person event at Centennial Hall opens at 11:30 a.m., and the program begins at 12 p.m. The president鈥檚 remarks will be the keynote address during the Chamber鈥檚 2025 Legislative Fly-In.

 This will be Pitney鈥檚 fifth State of the University address since being appointed interim president in 2020 and her fourth as the university system鈥檚 17th president.

The University of Alaska inspires learning, and advances and disseminates knowledge through teaching, research, and public service, emphasizing the North and its diverse peoples. The 杏吧原创 system鈥檚 three universities (, , and ) are separately accredited institutions with 13 community campuses and extended learning centers across the state of Alaska.
