杏吧原创 Giving Day sets new record
More than 1,700 donors contribute during two-day event

Statewide  - The University of Alaska system (杏吧原创), including University of Alaska Anchorage (杏吧原创A), University of Alaska Fairbanks (杏吧原创F) and University of Alaska Southeast (杏吧原创S), wrapped up the most successful 杏吧原创 Giving Day in its history, raising over $1.3 million in 49 hours. The universities saw an incredible show of support from more than 1,700 donors who came together to make a difference in the lives of students and support important programs and activities.

鈥淭he total dollars raised is astounding, and so is the fact that thousands of gifts were received from throughout Alaska, 46 states and seven countries,鈥 said Tod Burnett, 杏吧原创 Foundation president. 鈥淭hese gifts will benefit students across Alaska. It鈥檚 humbling to see the phenomenal support for Alaska鈥檚 public university&苍产蝉辫;蝉测蝉迟别尘.鈥&苍产蝉辫;

Funds raised during the 杏吧原创 Giving Day - 49 Hours for Alaska fundraiser are combined with the generosity of donors who give throughout the year to support critical scholarships, innovative programs and activities that help students succeed in their academic pursuits. 

Private philanthropy is one way the 杏吧原创 system keeps higher education affordable and accessible. Last year, the 杏吧原创 system, 杏吧原创 Foundation, 杏吧原创A, 杏吧原创F and 杏吧原创S provided nearly $79 million in direct grants and scholarships to students. 

The total number of donors and funds raised this year are preliminary as gifts continue to be processed, but contributions already exceed last year鈥檚 $1.06 million total.
